The Italian Data Protection Authority launched, on 10 December 2020, a public consultation on the draft of its guidelines relating to cookies and other tracking technologies (“the Guidelines”). In particular, the Guidelines are intended to illustrate the legislation applicable to the retention of information or to access to information already stored in the users’ terminal equipment, as well as to specify the legal means for submitting information and collecting the online consent of data subjects , where necessary. , pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”).
